Explanation of Rental Rates
Our business model is based on encouraging people to shop small and shop local.
Our vendors are the direct descendants of the American retail pioneers that build this country one town at a time.
Outdoor shopping is the heart and soul of what we offer.
Online and big box chain stores dominate the landscape today, but there is nothing like getting out on a Saturday or Sunday to enjoy the simple pleasures of shopping, browsing, and people watching with your friends, family, and neighbors.
Our definition of 'local' is small, independent for profit vendors consisting of artists, crafters, gift curators, and neighborhood brick and mortar mom & pop stores.
We believe they are the reason why people come to our fairs.
The vendors consisting of larger groups and organizations attend because there are people.
The other, larger, vendor groups include brick and mortar stores representing organizations such as real estate agencies, the media, gyms, etc, who may or may not be affiliated with larger regional, national or international organizations..
The 'other vendor groups' generally have staffs larger than 'mom & pop' along with one or two full or part time employees.
FREE VENDOR RENTAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHARITIES
Nassau County Fairs is a unique for-profit company.
Our charitable and nonprofit associates have provided us with an unprecedented number of quality locations that have ever been given to any one company on Long Island.
In order for us to be able to make the necessary donations to our associates we must use these locations wisely and efficiently.
Nassau County Fairs and its vendors must be profitable.
It takes a lot of money to market and promote every one of our fairs so that as many people as possible are aware of and attend the events throughout the year.
To that end we currently charge a rental rate to all of our vendors that is well below the industry average.
So, because we are already donating to the charities and nonprofits of our choice, we cannot offer free space to other organizations that wish to participate as vendors.
Of course, there are always exceptions.
By our standards, a charity does not have paid employees.
A charity is run excusively by volunteers.
Charitable organizations are welcome to email us their request for free space shop@nassaucountyfairs.com.
If we can accommodate the request here are the requirements:
No items are offered for sale.
No donations are solicited or accepted.
No election politicking.
Must be in office as we do not allow running candidates to have a booth.
Your booth is open for all advertised hours.
The free space is limited to literature and signage to create awareness, education, and involvement for the organization.
You must comply with all vendor set up and break down requirements.
Under no circumstances are individuals or groups permitted to distribute literature without our express permission.

VENDOR SET UP DETAILS
You must check in before setting up.
If you set up without checking you might have to break down your display and be relocated.
Vendor set up starts at 7am.
Drive to 59 Jackson Avenue at the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Underhill Boulevard.
Approach Jackson Avenue from the south heading north or from Underhill Boulevard heading east.
If you try to enter Jackson Avenue from the north you probably will encounter barricades that will force you to use side streets to enter Jackson Avenue from the south.
After checking in you will be directed to your space.
All space is assigned on a first come basis.
When you arrive at your space unload all your items either into or directly behind your space on the sidewalk.
Do not place any items to your right or left because that will be another vendor's space.
Before setting up anything, move your vehicle to the designated vendor parking lot.
After parking your vehicle you may return to your space to set up your display.
By following the above guidelines you will be helping to reduce congestion and delays.
All vendors set up either on Jackson Avenue or Underhill Boulevard as directed by our staff.
Vendor set up starts at 7 am and continues throughout the morning hours.
From 7am until 9:30 am vendors will be able to unload at or very near their assigned space.
Most vendors will be able to park their vehicle for the day in a convenient nearby parking lot.
After 9:30 am vendors might have to carry or wheel their items to their space for public safety reasons.
At the end of the day vendors will be able to bring their vehicles to their space to load up ONLY after it is considered safe to do so.
Space is assigned on a first come basis.
There are no 'bad' space locations at any of our shows.
Do not set up on your own.
Our green/yellow vested staff members will greet you and direct you to available space.
If you cannot find a staff member please ask any vendor where they can be found.
Vendor spaces are 10' x 10'.
There is room for vendors to set up a 10'x10' tent in their space and at least 3 six foot tables in a U-shape.
Vendors are responsible for supplying their own fixtures, tables, tent.
On windy days for public safety vendors setting up a portable tent must have at least 18lbs of weight on each leg of the tent.
Vendors who sell quality items that are displayed on a bare table only diminish their look and lower the overall appearance of the Market.
For your own good we strongly recommend covering your tables with a quality material.
Trade show top quality 6' fitted floor length black machine washable table covers are sold by show management for $20 while supplies last.
Vendors are responsible for removing any and all garbage, debris, boxes, etc. from their space and taking them away from the Fair grounds.
